For Apple devices, Apple Pay is a contactless payment method. It was created to get people away from carrying around actual wallets and toward a world where debit and credit cards are stored on an iPhone or Apple Watch, enabling cardless payments.
Everything you need to know about it, including how it operates, how to set it up, which banks accept it, and where you can use it, is contained in this section.

Banks and cards support
Most of the popular credit and debit card issuers, including Visa, MasterCard, and American Express, are supported by Apple Pay. Naturally, Apple’s Apple Card is also supported.
Although you must use a participating bank, many big banks now accept it.
Compatibility with Federal payment cards
Yes. Federal payment cards, such as those used to pay for Social Security and veteran benefits, can be used with Apple’s mobile payment system.
This includes the GSA SmartPay government card program and the Direct Express payment network. Transactions with the federal government are also supported by Apple Pay, so you may use it to pay for admission tickets and other goods at national parks, among other places.
Where it can be used
Anywhere that allows contactless payments is compatible with Apple Pay. It is accepted wherever you see the contactless payments symbol or the Apple Pay symbol close to readers at the register.
Worldwide, tens of thousands of shops and eateries support it. In the US, more than 75% of shops and eateries accept it, whereas, in the UK, more than 85% do. In 99 percent of its shops and eateries, Australia is supported.
The list Bloomingdale’s, Disney, Duane Reade, Macy’s, McDonald’s, Nike, Petco, Staples, Subway, Unleashed, Walgreens, and Whole Foods are just a handful of the US establishments and eateries that accept it.
You can use it in all the shops and eateries where contactless payments are currently accepted because the UK has a well-established contactless payment infrastructure.
Several apps, the Safari web browser, public transportation, and select nonprofit institutions, including Cancer Research UK, RSPCA, WaterAid, and WWF, among others, accept it.
Transaction limit
There is no £100 spending cap like contactless card payments do.
It implies that you can pay for your weekly groceries or fuel up your car with just your iPhone or Apple Watch.
Compatibility
Travel, shopping, entertainment, and service applications are just a few of the many apps that accept it.
Adidas, Bloom & Wild, Starbucks, Deliveroo, Apple Store, Topshop, Zara, ASOS, Uber, British Airways, Booking.com, Emirates, StubHub, DesignMyNight, and Made.com are just a handful of the applications that are compatible with it
What is Express Travel Card
With its Express Travel Card feature, you can choose a card that has been set up to use immediately whenever you are close to a supported public transportation reader.
Regardless of the card you select, you won’t need to double-tap the side or home buttons on an iPhone or an Apple Watch to pay for your travel.
Security
Your most recent purchases are saved in the Wallet app, but Apple claims it doesn’t retain transaction details or credit card numbers on its servers.
By generating a number or token in place of your card details, Apple Pay, which includes a tokenized backend architecture, secures card payments. For each of your cards, it precisely generates a Device Account Number.
Apple claims that the Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted, and securely kept in the Secure Element, a special chip found in the iPhone and Apple Watch, and that the token is provided to the retailer or merchant when a payment is initiated. As a result, your card information is never directly accessible by the retailer or merchant.
