Xsolla is an American fintech startup developing payment systems for games. It was founded in 2005 in Perm, Russia, by Aleksandr Agapitov. It had 500 employees in 2022. The company’s flagship product is Pay Station, a payment system integration toolkit. It supports 700+ payment types in 200+ countries. In 2021, Xsolla software had been used in a few thousand video games, and the company made about US$100 million.

Create an Xsolla account.
- Go to the Xsolla website.
- Go to Sign Up in the top-right corner of the homepage.
- Decide if you are a developer, a business or a writer.
- Fill in the fields, like your email and password.
- Check your email and sign up.
Set up a project
- Login to your Xsolla dashboard.
- Go to Projects and choose Create New Project.
- Give it a project name and the product type you’re selling (game, digital) in there.
- Complete the configuration steps:
- Platform Info: Enter the platform(s) your product will be on.
- Currency Settings: Enable default currency and other supported currencies.
- Localization: List the supported languages of your customers.

Products
In 2012, Xsolla’s products were deployed by 300 game developers (Valve Corporation, Gameforge, Wargaming) and by 2021, 1,500 game developers deployed Xsolla’s software on over 2,000 games.
Xsolla Accelerator was established in 2022 as an incubator program for indie game creators, supporting start-ups and educational programmes. And in 2022 it shut down the parent of its Russian arm, Xsolla Russian Holding LLC. Xsolla has also released Pay Station software in 2022, so you can more easily build web shops and fundraise with startup accelerators. And Xsolla Payouts, a tool that pays content creators. Payouts update, this update simplified payments. 1,000 game developers will be using Xsolla Pay Station in August 2022. Xsolla in 2022 established new collaborations with Alipay and Adikteev.
Xsolla’s Headless Checkout software, which empowers game developers to build storefronts in games, is integrated with Pay Station in 2023. It also partnered with AppsFlyer for cross-platform analytics in their products, and with Mastercard for credit card reward points as a means of payment. Xsolla 2024 has added Xsolla Wallet, an easier solution to cash in on games, MTN Group and Bharti Airtel to expand payment methods in Africa, and PayPay to expand options in Japan. as well as an analytics company GameAnalytics to incorporate its software with Xsolla’s web shops. It introduced Cross-Play and then that year Cross Pay, which allows game developers to cross-promote their games between platforms and to receive payments more easily.
