Tencent’s platform Tenpay has a full-service online payment platform including WeChat Pay and Weixin Pay. For those of you unfamiliar with Tencent’s online payment services, here’s how to do it in all its glory:

Create an account: Get the WeChat app and create an account. You will have to enter your phone number and proof of identity.

Tencent and UnionPay collaborate to revolutionize payment platforms with barcode interconnection

Tencent layout and issues of emerging payment platform WeChat has announced that Tencent WeChat Pay and UnionPay have started to cooperate in payment technology to facilitate closer connection. One is that WeChat Pay and the UnionPay App have now completed the cross-recognition and scanning of offline barcodes and you can now pay with scanned WeChat collection code on the UnionPay App in provincial capitals. Moreover, Q coin, QQ Music, and Tencent Video top-ups are fully accessible through the UnionPay App. UnionPay slowly powers WeChat mini-apps, which run the original internet projects. WeChat Reading, Tencent Video, Maoyan, Jingdong, Bubugao, Luckin, and more mini-apps. These projects went live for A/B testing on September 22. So, in mobile payment, Tencent has stepped up its game. These Internet titans bring ecological payment platforms into each other’s films, so the long mobile payment fight is transformed into a mega-monopoly. This phase will be the expansion of communication, disruption and competition. “Interconnection” in the world of payment development means primarily barcode-payment. That is also the style direction of Tencent’s new tech project. Expanded transaction limits and payment options for Weixin Pay international users

Anyone who wants a greater transaction limit can pass through identity verification by providing the necessary data. Verification of the passports can be done in a few seconds. Weixin Pay has also increased transaction limits for verified international users: the single transaction limit is now US$1,000. The maximum transaction limit is now US$5,000, and the annual transaction limit is now US$10,000, the maximum transaction limit is US$50,000. 

To offer more choices of payment for visitors overseas, apart from connecting international cards with Weixin Pay, overseas users can apply for and connect UnionPay’s Tour Card, a pre-paid card offering one-stop top-up and consumption service, with Weixin Pay.
